Walks with Luna~Dog

I have been taking our little Luna~Dog for an early hourly walk each morning, a loop that takes me along a lane out of the village, through the farmlands and over stiles and bridges. 
Luna~Dog is full of limitless energy, and a walk first thing helps her to settle, and helps me feel energised, and ready for the day! 
I love seeing the world before it has really woken up, the fog lays over the fields like a blanket keeping everything snug, and safe. The countryside looks untouched. When I start out, the light is low, and everything has a silvery-grey quality to it, eyes yet unopened, and when I take my last turn out of the fields and back into the village, the sky is blue and the birds are in full chorus. 
It is great thinking time - I read once somewhere that walking/running/cycling has amazing abilities for thought - the forward motion of your body keeps you thinking ahead. Wether that is true or not, it seems to be working for me. My mind races with ideas, inspirations, insights. I come home itching to get into my Workshop! Love, Faery. 

Phoebe the Moon Doll

Hey, it's Selkie and Brownie here,
                                                                                     

this is Phoebe Brownie's new masterpiece. 

We saw this lady who made these amazing dolls so Brownie decided to make one. We looked at many different designs but Brownie's favourite was this style. She decided to make Phoebe have a moon on her head. 

We are very pleased at how she turned out and it took us quite a while to figure out what she should be called. We took her to Berkley Castle where King Edward the II was murdered. It was great fun and we absolutely recommend going there. 

We chose her name because there was a moon goddess called Phoebe and we thought it was the best name for her. 

Selkie is going to make a Scottish doll that will have red hair and a tartan dress. We are both super excited to make her. We are planning on making her and her soon-to-be Scottish friend, a whole bunch of dresses and we have some nice fabric for it. 

We all love how she turned out, especially Luna!

Welcome to The Library Cottage! This is our first ever blog so let me introduce us:
Faery, Selkie (this is me), Hobgoblin, Brownie and our dog Luna. We are a woodland loving family who are excited to start blogging. Each one of us will be blogging about different things and you can find them on this page.
